Stephen Norris

Sacramento Director of Development

Stephen Norris has been working in the youth development nonprofit field for 8 years. Stephen began his current role as Juma’s Sacramento Director of Development in the summer of 2017, and is excited to build up Juma’s presence in Sacramento and provide Sacramento’s opportunity youth with the skills needed to succeed in their chosen career. He started working with Juma in the spring of 2013 as the Seattle Enterprise Manager, working to train, employ, and supervise over 100 young adults per year across multiple venues. In 2016, Stephen moved to Texas to assist Juma in setting up brand new sites in both Dallas and Houston, where he built up relationships with multiple community based organizations to recruit Juma young adults, and employ them across multiple venues.

Stephen graduated from the University of Virginia in 2007 with a degree in Economics. He started his path in the youth development field in 2009 as an Americorps Service Learning Fellow with The Choice Program, helping reduce recidivism for youth who had been through the juvenile justice system in Baltimore. He stayed with The Choice Program after his year of service was done and eventually became Assistant Director overseeing multiple teams of service providers. He currently resides in Sacramento.
