Juma’s New and Exciting Micro Venture

Dear Juma Community,

Today, I am thrilled to announce the launch of a new business venture for Juma.

As we all know, this has been a challenging year. For us at Juma, the stadium closures resulting from the pandemic had a major impact on our social enterprise as it curtailed our ability to provide our young people with employment and on-the-job learning opportunities.

In order to provide additional jobs and training for our youth, we are piloting a new venture for the holiday season selling curated gift boxes containing high quality, unique articles that are sourced from ethical and socially responsible organizations. Juma youth will be employed to assemble and ship the boxes, and the initial pilot is expected to provide 450 hours of work and 112 shifts for our young people. They are ready to get back to work!

We are very excited about the scalability of this venture and the potential opportunities it may bring to our young people, like the chance to learn new roles and increase responsibilities with time: from assembling, packaging and shipping, to purchasing, inventory management, customer service, and others.

You can help make this enterprise a success by purchasing one or more boxes and sharing this gift-giving opportunity with your networks. Please visit this website today for detailed information on the three boxes: Box of Cheer, Box of Calm, and Cozy Up Box. The store will be open through November 29th and there is a limited amount of inventory, so please order your boxes now.

From your friends and family to your kids’ teachers, your employees or your workmates, anyone and everyone will appreciate a thoughtful gift that gives back, particularly after the year we’ve all had.

Thank you in advance for your support.

P.S. As an added incentive, everyone who buys one or more boxes will be entered into a drawing to win two (2) Alaska Airline travel vouchers – courtesy of our partners at Alaska Airlines.
