Adriane’s first job was as a barista at her neighborhood coffee shop in high school.  Since then, she has dedicated her career to the nonprofit sector, working on issues ranging from education and community development to public health and environmental justice. Common threads in her work have been the pursuit of social justice and serving underserved communities. Adriane was the CEO of Juma from 2017 to 2025, following six years on staff in the roles of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Program Officer, and Managing Director of Programs, and her journey with Juma started when she began volunteering in 2005.

During Adriane’s eight years as CEO, Juma implemented a new strategic direction to focus on youth who need services the most (increased target population by 21%) and ensure they are well served (program completion rates doubled).  Adriane served with a dual focus on impact and creating a great place to work, and staff retention increased by 17% (to 98%) while staff satisfaction increased by 39% (to an average of 93%).  Furthermore, she ushered the organization into a new era of financial sustainability to fuel this growth and impact, with an average 21% net income, 4.7x growth in net assets and 4.6x growth in unrestricted net assets.

Adriane serves on the board of the Hidden Genius Project and the Stanford Board of Governors.  She previously served on the Stanford GSB Alumni Association board, the Council of Nonprofit Leaders for Charity Navigator, and the board of Huckleberry Youth Programs.  Prior to joining Juma, Adriane managed a housing and social services program for youth aging out of foster care with Local Initiatives Support Corporation. Adriane holds an MBA with an emphasis in nonprofit management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as well as an M.A. in social psychology and a B.A. in comparative studies in race and ethnicity from Stanford University.
