Seattle Executive Director
Mason is Juma’s Seattle Executive Director and during his tenure, he has worked to strengthen Juma’s presence in Seattle by forging numerous partnerships with various local nonprofits focused on youth development, ensuring the successful implementation of programs, and overseeing a social enterprise operation that employs over 170 youth annually.
In 2015, Mason launched a new pilot program with Starbucks and the City of Seattle, employing Opportunity Youth, equipping them with the skills and training needed for career readiness. This same year, Juma Seattle was recognized by Seattle Business Magazine and nominated as the Youth Development Nonprofit of the Year.
Mason is passionate about closing the opportunity gap and providing equal access to higher education to all young people. He shares Juma’s belief that the world’s greatest social service is a job and is consistently inspired by the leadership and resiliency of Juma’s youth.
Mason received his BA in Communications from the University of California, Berkeley and his MA in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. He currently resides in Seattle with his wife Amelia and two daughters.
